This wonderfully macabre 15 oz ceramic mug is covered in a wraparound collage of vintage undertaker, funeral home and mortuary advertisements, preserving an era when coffins, caskets, hearses, embalming services and funeral furnishings were advertised right alongside other everyday goods and services.
Look closely and there is something different to discover around the entire mug: old undertaker advertisements, horse-drawn hearses, early motor hearses, coffin and casket advertising, embalming products, funeral-home notices and other pieces of historic death-care ephemera.
It is an especially fun piece for collectors of funeral history, mortuary memorabilia, Victorian and antique advertising, oddities and macabre décor—and it looks right at home in the Curio Cupboard.
